No More Boxers!

I have officially accepted a Creative Director position with Location 3 in downtown Denver.  Until now, Location 3 has been an online marketing agency partnering with local advertising firms when additional creative work is needed for a campaign (web design, interactive, media, etc.).  Now, they’re expanding their creative capabilities.

It is a very exciting opportunity due to the uniqueness of Location 3’s standing in the market.  They are award-winning providers of internet marketing products and services in Denver and beyond.  Their arsenal includes three major solutions – Local Search Traffic, Search Ad Network, and Hispanic Targeting.  Their success in developing websites that have proven track records of profitability and market gain provides a powerful platform to extend the creative reach of the company.  Most agencies I’ve worked for over the past decade, while understanding the importance of online marketing strategies and technologies, haven’t had the experience or personnel to harness the power of these vital growth engines.

I believe this will give us the edge in the marketplace, and position us as a viable contender against other ad agencies and creative shops in this demographic.

So, look for good things.  It’s a great platform from which to launch.  I guess my days of working in my boxers are numbered.  Or are they?

Social Networking for Dummies!

So after deleting my numerous social accounts {MySpace, Facebook, Virb, Flickr, Twitter, Vimeo, and more} due to my inability to keep up with them all, I’ve decided to give it another shot.  Albeit, a smaller shot.  Virb and Facebook for now.

Of course, I do still have a Flickr and Twitter account, so I guess that last line was a crock of shit.

Anyway, feel free to be my friend again, or for the first time.

Ode to an iPhone

I never thought these words would come out of my mouth, but the amount of usage my iPhone gets is shameful.

I’m as big an Apple guy as anybody, was right there when the iPhone first came out, and when the 3G came out I stood in line with a co-worker in the middle of the work day.  I’m dedicated for sure, but not sure what has happened here.  My iPhone has become, well . . . a phone.  Doug Landback (resident agency Microsoft evangelist) is already drafting his “I told you so” email.

I almost forgot, I use it as an iPod during the day while I’m coding away.  So it’s become a phone, and an iPod.  Which leads me to ask, is that all it really ever was? I feel lost.  I need a support group or something.  Anyone out there have any advice.

My recent Wired came with an article on some pretty cool apps, so maybe that will rekindle the flame.  I’d hate for my iPhone to feel cheap, especially so close to Valentines Day.

Batman Flys Off

Christian Bale on the set of the new Terminator flick goes off on a DP for walking through the scene while shooting for a second time.  Bale’s comments are dominant in the audio, but from time to time you can hear the director make a comment or two, as well as the DP in question.  You can tell by Bale’s comments that the DP must be somewhat talking back to him, or having what I imagine to be an “I don’t care” attitude towards the entire thing.  Pretty funny though.

At the end Bale threatens to kick his ass!  http://www.aolcdn.com/tmz_audio/020209_christianbale.mp3
